Random Musings of a Feisty Editor-In-Chief

Facebook has gone from just being a convenient way to catch up with old friends to the certified digital display of dumb-ass-ness.

I say all of this after witnessing another grown man air out his significant other via his latest facebook status. Sure, it would've been easier, and more mature to privately handle the matter with a phone call or text message; but he, like many others, still preferred tagging her to a status regarding his complaints of the relationship, versus just taking it to the damn source, and not the audience.

I expect this behavior from women since we are the more emotional of the genders, but to see so many men fall victim to classless Twitter and Facebook rants on a daily basis only places a magnifying glass on my suspicions.

These social networks have truly f'd us all up...well not all, but most.

I advise anyone who is having any troubles in their relationships to handle it in private, or you may not have a relationship to tweet about later.

Dig me?

But on to the fun stuff...

Products I'm Loving: Glossaholic by Hard Candy (Shade: Fireball)

Props: All Things Glam

Damn, I'm in love...again.

I've always been a sucker for a gorgeous lip, but I can't say I've ever been as impressed with a drug store lip gloss this heavy.

Hard Candy has a reputation of creating amazing products that are extremely affordable, but because of the affordability, I'm always skeptic when trying their new cosmetics. It's not because the brand is lackluster, but just more so that we've all been trained into the 'you get what you pay for' style of thinking.

But it didn't even seem like this gigantic tube of lip gloss was only $5; and did I mention my lips are simply gorgeous after application?

The Glossaholic glosses are addictive because they have gorgeous glitter specks and flakes with the perfect hint of color. I purchased Fireball, and it has a red tint, with heart stopping shimmer that just leaves your lips beyond delicious. My only beef is the taste...a grown woman can't be too happy about walking around with her lips tasting like jolly ranchers all day.

Eh, despite that, it's totally worth the buy. Perfect for layering over any lipstick or duller gloss. Get it for $5.00 at your local Walmart.

Current Manicure For The Nail Polish Junkie:

So it's Summer, and my days and nights are full of multiple bright spots. Despite the little things, I'm usually in a more jovial mood close to my birthday month. So it's no shocker that my manicures get a little...brighter.

The It Color by OPI is by far the perfect shade of mustard yellow. It's a gorgeous yellow creme that truly has the feel of the Summertime. I've had other yellows, but ain't no yellow like the It Color.

I'm Reading:

The movie will be released next month, but the book is pretty addictive. Besides the talented composition of a novice writer, the story itself is just as captivating in its on right. Refreshing, with the right hint of historical, it's the kind of book that makes you want to be brave in your own life.

We all need a book like that sometimes.

My Movie List:

This is an independent film that received many awards and recognition, but unfortunately, Crash seemed to take most of its shine. But don't get it mistaken, no ideas were stolen. It was created before Crash.

It's one of those films that you may not get for the first 20 minutes, but when it clicks, it hits hard. This was an amazing demonstration on the complexity of the gun issues in our country. Be prepared to have your breath taken away by some great acting, with one young black character in particular you'll be rooting for by the middle of the film.

My Current Fashion Addiction:

Sparkle Filigree Earrings, Forever 21

Big bulky, antique like clip-ons. I usually have to go the vintage route, and hit up some thrift shops; but now these are so in that I can find carbon copies at Forever 21 for $4.

Not bad.

I always feel so captivating in these style of earrings.

They're perfect for a romantic night out on the town, with an up-do and a sassy attitude.

Until next time, be beautiful and dope at the same time.
